After Mohabbatein Yash Chopra is back with a home production starring son Uday Chopra and Jimmy Shergill. The movies is based on Julie Roberts hit movie "My Best Friend's Wedding". The movie is Uday Chopra second movie and Jimmy Shergill's third movie after Mohabbatein and Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar. The female leads are Sanjana - a new comer and Bipasha Basu. Yash Chopra has tried to work with a fresh team for movie and has taken Sanjay Gadhvi to direct the movie and Jeet-Pritam for music. Lyrics are by Javed Akhtar.

Ek Ladki.. a song about a lover describing his love. Udit Narayan tries to be different, but it doesn’t help the song. Alka Yagnik lends her voice for the background. The song feels very similar to "bholi si surat" of Dil To Pagal Hai.

Sharara.. by Asha Bhonsle is a live number and probably the best number of the album. Asha sounds young as usual and there's no doubt about it. Javed Akhtar's lyrics too are above average.

Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai.. the title song. A typical shaadi song. Alka Yagnik though doesn’t have much to sing, but is creative. Udit Narayan & Sonu Nigam are just the same.

Apart from Sharara, the only number good number on the album is Jaage Jaage. A good romantic & melodious song by Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik & Udit Narayan. The song is catchy and might add weightage to the movie publicity.

Humne Suna Hai.. a below average song is a situation song where friends & family inquiring a girl about her new find love. The song has Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Sudesh Bhosle & Jaspinder Narula. All four are unable to save the ship from drowning.

Hum Dona Jaisa.. the worst song of the album by KK & Sunidhi Chauhan. One cannot expect such a disaster song from a Yash Chopra's movie.

Apart from the two songs, Sharara & Jaage Jaage, the whole of album is just average. Music lovers expect a lot from a Yash Chopra's film, but the music by new comers Jeet-Pritam fails to arouse the audience. The lyrics by Javed Akhtar too are below mark. The music might sell initially on name of Yash Chopra, but would find it difficult to survive and create an impact.
