Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishna Kumar, the T-Series venture, NOOR boasts of another full-fledged audio score by the young and talented Amaal Malik (his next after the super hit, M.S. DHONI). So expectations are definitely quite high from the team.
NOOR MOVIE STILLS
The playlist commences with the breezy, peppy title song, 'Uff Ye Noor'
and it sketches the character of the main lead, Noor in a very interesting manner, courtesy some apt lyrics by Manoj and lively background arrangements. Armaan Malik renders the song with gusto.
Composed by Badshah, 'Move Your Lakk
' is certainly the chartbusting party/ club dance number that will be patronized by the youth and Gen X frequenting clubs and discos because of its superb rhythm, lovely beats and trendy lyrics. The presence of Punjabi superstar and superstar Diljit Dosanjh adds that X factor and the promotional video which also features Sonakshi and Badshah is sure to propel the song to further heights.
Mohammad Rafi's iconic chartbusting number from THE TRAIN 'Gulabi Aankhein
' (R. D Burman) has been refurbished (by Amaal) with additional lyrics (by Kumaar) titled 'Gulabi 2.0' and must say Amaal has tried to go with the current EDM (electronic dance music) trend but unfortunately the original has simply been molested (if one may excuse us for saying so!) . There was absolutely no need to go in for a revamp of an already highly racy, and rhythmic dance number, so the effort falls flat. But maybe the current generation may be attaracted to this number. Amaal does a fine job as a singer with support from Tulsi Kumar and Yash Navrekar.
The same can be said about' Gulabi Redux) which is a space filer and does not offer anything novel. 'Jise Kehte Hain Pyaar'
is the quintessential but refreshing love ballad where the lead realizes that she has fallen in love with and is rendered with effortless charm by Sukriti Kakkar but she falters at places with her diction.
A thought provoking, philosophical, situational number 'Hai Zaroori'
banks on sweet, melodious vocals of Prakriti Kakkar with minimal music addendums. The song has a gloomy, brooding setting with poignant background arrangements and sounds and should appear as a background score. Manoj's lyrics deserve special mention.
Summing up, Amaal Malik lives up to the expectations and provide an entertaining audio score which goes well with the script. The labour that he has put into the album shows (specially the arrangements) and slowly but surely he is emerging as a composer to look forward to ('Gulabi
' notwithstanding). Our picks- 'Uff Ye Noor', 'Move Your Lakk' and 'Hai Zaroori'
' and its version can be added . The audio should help NOOR and aid proceeding when the film releases all over this Friday.Music Review Rating Chart :-
