Prima facie, there is not much expectation from the audio of TOLIET-EK PREM KATHA, but one does hope for a melodious outing from a bunch of promising new composers. Reason being the presence of top notch actor, superstar Akshay Kumar and ace director Neeraj Pandey, as co-producers, whose films like SPECIAL 26, BABY etc had some really good music, despite being offbeat films!

The first to arrive is 'Hans Mat Pagli' composed by Vickey Prasad, which brings together the unbeatable combo of Sonu-Shreya in this absolutely loveable love ballad. The tune is super fresh, the arrangements understated but effective and Hindustani/ desi to the last breathe effective. Lyrics are fresh as well and relatable (those travelling on highways in the North India will remember trucks and light vehicles bearing the first line of the song 'Hans mat pagli, pyaar ho jaayega' written on their rear.'')

Vickey Prasad gets another opportunity to showcase his musical talents with 'Bakheda' which is quite a nice situational romantic duet desi in its heart and soul carrying the flavour of the movie. Once again exceptional singers like Sukhwinder and Sundhi take the song to newer heights and lyrics too are superb, a lovely mix of rural North and Hindi.

'Gori Tu Lathhmaar' (by Manas-Shikhar) is a lively, all truly desi holi celebration number, yet situational, which takes inspiration from the world famous 'Lathhmaar Braj Holi', a traditional holi from the times of Radha-Krishna and enjoyed even today, where women beat men with a symbolic 'lathh' (lathi ). Sonu regales with a spirited rendition and Palak Muchal gives good support. A situational number alright.

Sachet Tandon and Parampara Thakur composed and sung, 'Subah Ki Train', is another romantic outing that more or less carries the same desi/rural flavour with pleasing arrangements like flutes, harmonica etc but does not really make much of an impression as it does not remain long in memory.

Summing up, the audio of Akshay Kumar's TOILET-EK PREM KATHA is strictly functional, but two songs by the very promising Vickey Prasad,' Hans Mat Pagli' and 'Bakheda', make a strong impression and happen to be our picks as well. The movie of course does not really rely on the audio, to ensure a predictable good opening, when it releases all over on 11th August.
