It's with fond memories and great expectations one delves into the audio of versatile producer, director Anubhav Sinha's TUM BIN 2, the much awaited sequel to the sleeper and surprise hit, TUM BIN, remembered till this day for its memorable songs like its title track, 'Koi Fariyad
' etc , to name a few. One expects composer Ankit Tiwari to do justice and come up with another memorable fare for the sequel.TUM BIN 2 WALLPAPERS
It's truely a befitting and nostalgic start that the makers provide through 'Teri Fariyad
', the new version of the highly popular Ghazal 'Koi Fariyad
' (Nikhil-Vinay) rendered by the legendary Jagjit Singh. And it was indeed a excellent idea to use his vocals and keep them intact in this refurbished version (Ankit Tiwari) as one is brought to tears through it. Shakeel Azmi has done an excellent job penning the additional lyrics in the same 'beher' (rhyme). Rekha Bhardwaj's crisp and emotive vocals add 'chaar chand
' to this already superb number.
' is worth listening over and over again. One just can't get enough and so the extended version of 'Teri Fariyad
' comes as a 'faryad
' /prayer answered by God.
The song that has already caught the fancy of music buffs, 'Ishq Mubarak
' is a lovely addictive love ballad rendered superbly by Arijit Singh, who adds another feather to his crown through this chartbusting track. The Nusrat Fateh Khan style 'alaaps
' in the background and the desi arrangements combined with western ones adorn the song. Manoj's lyrics are unique and simple.
Arijit comes back this time for a duet with Tulsi Kumar in 'Dekh Lena
', a song where the leads profess profound and undying love for each other. Ankit uses nice, simple melody and so the tune is very hummable and lyrics identifiable for all those in love. Even the background musical addendums are light, soft and soothing making the song a loveable fare.
It's but natural that one will surely compare Ankit Tiwari's title track of TUM BIN 2 to the classy and popular predecessor but hats off to Ankit for coming up with a lovely composition. It was a wise decision by Ankit to render the song himself as he does justice to it. Once again the tune chosen is dew fresh, arrangements excellent and so are the lyrics which depict the emotional turmoil well. 'Yaara tum bin jeene mein, Saansein chubhein hain seene meein'
' is indeed full of fun, masti, situational, philosophical and brings forth the decrees of the minds and hearts and talks about following the heart. Rockstar Vishal Dadlani shows a different side with a rendition that surely makes one sing along and Neeti Mohun too chips in well. One detects traces of the Scottish Highlands music (the film is shot in Scotland) in its background arrangements, bagpipe et al.
' commences in the retro style of Geeta Dutt days but what follows is a multifold fusion composition with many different layers. The semi -classical rendition and use of English too makes this unique. Composer Arko Pravo Mukerjee has been roped in to render the number and he excels along with Payal Dev who too is classy.
The audio ends on a celebratory note with the much talked about party anthem song, 'Jagger Bomb
' featuring famous Caribbean cricketer, DJ Barvo, who lends his vocals to this chartbusting track and does a cool job. Ankit too pitches in along with Harshi Mad whose bindass rendition does justice to the track. The song with its hip hop and heavy beats (Calypso we guess!) and not to mention Bravo will surely appeal to the youth.
The latest song to be added to the album is the Punjabi hip hop party dance number is 'Kariye Nachna Aunda Ni
' rendered by Hardy Sandhu and Neha Kakkar with rap by Raftaar. Composed by Gorov Roshin and lyrics by Kumaar with additional lyrics by Raftaar, the song adds 'chaar chand
' to the already chartbusting album and also provides variety.
Summing up, maverick director Anubhav Sinha and T-Series keep their musical success record intact and kudos to the makers, Ankit and Manoj, for providing another chartbusting and memorable fare. Some of the songs are already making their way up to the charts and happen to be our picks as well- Our all-time fav- 'Teri Fariyad
' and its extended version, 'Ishq Mubarak
', the title track and 'Jaeger Bomb
'. This will surely aid the cause of TUM BIN 2 at the box-office when it releases all over. Music Review Rating Chart :-
