This Friday’s major releases are going to be Homi Adajania’s FINDING FANNY along with Vikram Bhatt’s CREATURE (3D). The front runner will obviously be the Vikram Bhatt venture CREATURE (3D) followed by EROS International’s FINDING FANNY (at good multiplexes).
Moving on, last week’s major release MARY KOM, the film based on the Olympic medal winning boxer’s life, has put up a bravura performance. After a good opening day (8 crore), Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Omung Kumar directed Priyanka Chopra starrer, MARY KOM, moved from strength to strength as the days progressed, netting nearly 29 crore, during the opening weekend, with each subsequent day being better than the previous one.
MARY KOM has also impressed in the overseas (especially US) grossing £60,000 from UK and $375,000 from the US, during the opening weekend (5-7 September).
Checking out, Kunal Deshmukh’s Emraan Hashmi starrer, RAJA NATWARLAL, the film turned out to be a major disappointment for the star-director combo due to the already discussed reasons. Adding another 9 crore, MARDAANI has netted 34 crore in two weeks from India and is an above average fare.
The film has also done very well in the overseas (for a female solo) grossing £105,000 from UK and $380,000 from the US till the third weekend (5-7 September).
Concluding with Rohit Shetty’s Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer, SINGHAM RETURNS, the film is on its last legs as it added another 4 crore thus netting 139 crore in three weeks from India and is a super hit. SINGHAM RETURNS is also Ajay Devgn’s biggest overseas solo starrer grossing £355,000 from UK and $1,210,000 from the US.
