This Friday will see the release of T-Series' Ayushmann Khurrana starrer NAUTANKI SAALA! and the Vipul Shah produced Vidyut Jamwal venture COMMANDO-A ONE MAN ARMY.
While both the films have been well promoted and the audio too is being noticed (more so for NAUTANKI SAALA), last Friday's CHASHME BADDOOR will pose a tough challenge to both the new releases.
Last Friday's David Dhawan directed, CHASHME BADDOOR, a remake of the Sai Paranjapye directed 1981 classic, has put up a great performance, more so for a project of its size (and cost!) and not boasting of any top 5 stars! Once again, the youths have proved that they are the ones who matter a lot to fate of any film, taking nothing away from the merits of CHASHME BADDOOR! Coming to actual numbers, the film saw a reasonably good first day, picking up substantially on the next two day and thus netting around 19 crore (to be validated) during the opening weekend.
The film though has not done well in the overseas grossing ?51,000 in the UK and $150,000 from the US during the opening weekend (5-7 April).

Netting close to 42 crore during the opening week, the Ajay Devgn starrer HIMMATWALA, will fail tide over the losses, more so for the sub distributors. The film has also failed to emulate the success of Sajid's previous releases in the overseas, grossing ?207,000 in the UK and $263,000 in the US, till the second weekend (5-7 April).
Meanwhile, the collections of Suparn Verma's AATMA crashed badly in the second week as the film added another 70 lakhs, thus netting 10 crore in two weeks from India. The film is an average fare, after accounting for the non-theatrical rights.
Concluding with Subhash Kapoor's JOLLY L.L.B., the film continues its winning run collecting 40 lakhs from Bombay, 4.50 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 1.50 lakhs from Surat, 3 lakhs from Baroda, 6 lakhs from Pune, 45 lakhs from Delhi city, 5.35 lakhs from Noida, 4.50 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 1.50 lakhs from Kanpur, 5 lakhs from Lucknow, 1.15 lakhs from Allahabad, 10 lakhs from Gurgaon, 1.50 lakhs from Chandigarh, 1.50 lakhs from Jalandhar, 6.50 lakhs from Calcutta, 1.50 lakhs from Bhubanewshwar, 1.50 lakhs from Nagpur, 1.50 lakhs from Raipur, 2.25 lakhs from Indore, 3.35 lakhs from Bhopal, 5 lakhs from Jaipur, 1 lakh from Udaipur, 10 lakhs from Hyderabad and 15 lakhs from Bangalore.
Adding another two crores, the Arshad, Amrita and Boman starrer, JOLLY L.L.B. has netted 30.50 crore in two weeks from India and is on way to a hit status.
