This Friday is going to see an interesting clash between Vishal Bhardwaj's Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Amole Gupte starrer KAMINEY and Rumi Jaffri's Govinda, Fardeen Khan, Tusshar and Prachi Desai starrer, LIFE PARTNER. While most are under the impression that it will be a cakewalk for KAMINEY, LIFE PARTNER is now showing signs of giving KAMINEY a fight.

The reason is simple, the initial hype that ''Dhan Te Nan'' song promo had created has somewhat dimmed after the LOVE AAJ KAL onslaught, while LIFE PARTNER, not exactly the ?most awaited' movie, has slowly but surely managed to make the audience sit up and take notice.

However, both KAMINEY and LIFE PARTNER, which are expected to reap rich rewards during their opening (holiday) weekend, will have to face tough times as from the second weekend onwards, they will both move into the lean (fasting) month of ?Ramzan' and also the current problem of swine flu, which is affecting the nation badly.

Last Friday's three releases, Ram Gopal Varma's AGYAAT, Satish Kaushik's TEREE SANG and the Ujjwal Singh directed CHAL CHALEIN have all failed to excite the audience.

While AGYAAT was outrightly rejected at the multiplexes, it fared decently at the single screens initially. It was the reverse case with TEREE SANG, as some multiplexes showed a fair response, though not good enough. The weekdays proved to be dismal for both. The third release, CHAL CHALEIN, was a non-starter that faced rejection from day one.

Moving on to LOVE AAJ KAL, the film has caught the fancy of the cinegoers in a big way, both in India and Overseas, and it has huge collections to show. The Imtiaz Ali directed Saif-Deepika starrer has done exceptionally in multiplexes and cities and also in the US.
