This Friday will see the release of Shahid-Genelia's CHANCE PE DANCE and the Rajpal Yadav starrer, HELLO…HUM LALLANN BOL RAHE HAIN. Unfortunately despite all its rich look and good cinematic values, Ken Ghosh's CHANCE PE DANCE may just about be an average fare, more so at multiplexes and good cinemas. The fate that awaits the film is also largely due to the fact that the makers have not really promoted the film for reasons best known to them. The other film, HELLO…HUM LALLANN BOL RAHE HAIN will sink without a trace, even with the new numerological additions.

Last week's two releases, Mudassar Aziz's DULHA MIL GAYA and Jugal Hansraj's PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE! have both expectedly failed to appeal to the audience. The opening of the Fardeen, Sushmita and Shah Rukh Khan (extended cameo) starrer DULHA MIL GAYA varied from very weak to poor, while the Priyanka-Uday venture PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE! saw a dull to poor start. Comparatively speaking, the Yash Raj project has performed better than Viveck Vaswani's production. Once again 3 IDIOTS proved to hot for both the new releases to handle. In the Overseas too, both the movies have been out rightly rejected, with DULHA MIL GAYA grossing a poor ? 71,760 and PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE! a shockingly low ?16,207 from UK during the opening weekend (8-10 January).

Moving on, Pritish Nandy's RAAT GAYI, BAAT GAYI? collected 15 lakhs from Bombay (collections from 14 cinemas unreceived), 4.10 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 10 lakhs from Delhi city, 2 lakhs from Noida, 1 lakh from Ghaziabad, 2.20 lakhs from Gurgaon, 1.60 lakhs from Calcutta, 1 lakh from Nagpur, 4.15 lakhs from Hyderabad and 1.30 lakhs from Bangalore. Netting barely 75 lakhs in its opening week from India, RAAT GAYI, BAAT GAYI? is a terrible failure.

Even BOLO RAAM could not say anything at the box office, collecting 4.50 lakhs from Bombay, 2 lakhs from Ahmedabad and 2.50 lakhs from Delhi city. Padmini Kolhapure's comeback venture, BOLO RAAM, is an unmitigated disaster netting barely 25 lakhs in its opening week from India.

Checking out Celina Jaitley's ACCIDENT ON HILL ROAD, it proves fatal for all concerned. The film collected 4 lakhs from Bombay and 2.25 lakhs from Delhi city. With less than 20 lakhs in its opening week ACCIDENT ON HILL ROAD is the biggest of the three disasters of the week.

Meanwhile, records keep tumbling like nine pins for 3 IDIOTS even in the second week. In fact, its second week numbers in India will be difficult to emulate for most of the forthcoming releases in their opening week!
