The coming week will witness the release the Himesh-Honey starrer, THE XPOSE, along with D GANGS OF MUMBAI and the animated MIGHTY RAJU – RIO CALLING. The front runner will obviously be THE XPOSE, for reasons that we have already discussed earlier this week.

With megastar Rajnikanth's KOCHADAIIYAAN (2D & 3D, animation) having been postponed, it was an open field for the multiple releases, namely the Vinod Khanna starrer KOYELAANCHAL, Fox Star Studios and Amole Gupte's HAWAA HAWAAI, the film based on the life of first Hindi porn writer MASTRAM, along with YEH HAI BAKRAPUR and MANJUNATH. However, it was just HAWAA HAWAAI and MASTRAM which showed significant collections during opening weekend. While HAWAA HAWAAI netted 4 crore, MASTRAM was lower at around 2.50 crore. Given the reasonable budget of HAWAA HAWAAI and the shoestring cost(s) of MASTRAM, both the films can still manage to tipple over to the positive side of the fulcrum, especially the latter, despite the dull opening day.

Meanwhile EROS International venture PURANI JEANS could not achieve anything significant as it collected 15 lakhs from Bombay (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 7 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 2.50 lakhs from Surat, 1.50 lakhs from Baroda (collections from 2 cinemas unreceived), 3 lakhs from Pune, 15 lakhs from Delhi city, 2 lakhs from Noida, 2 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 1.50 lakhs from Kanpur, 2 lakhs from Lucknow, 1.25 lakhs from Agra, 1.50 lakhs from Allahabad, 1.50 lakhs from Gurgaon, 5 lakhs from Calcutta, 2.15 lakhs from Nagpur, 1.50 lakhs from Raipur, 2.25 lakhs from Indore, 1 lakh from Gwalior, 1 lakh from Bhopal, 5 lakhs from Jaipur, 1 lakh from Kota, 1 lakh from Udaipur, 1.50 lakhs from Hyderabad and 3 lakhs from Bangalore. Netting 1.25 crore during the opening week, PURANI JEANS has failed at the box-office.

The only other release of the week that posted significant numbers, the Vijay Raaz and Manu Rishi starrer KYA DILLI KYA LAHORE, fared worse netting barely 75 lakhs during the first week, and is a flop.

Checking out Kangana Ranaut's REVOLVER RANI, after a reasonable first week, the film crashed in the second adding just 50 lakhs, thus netting 10.50 crore in two weeks from India and ending up as a below average fare.

Concluding with Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar's 2 STATES saw another good week as it collected 1.25 crore from Bombay (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 34.50 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 8.50 lakhs from Surat, 10 lakhs from Baroda (collections from 2 cinemas unreceived), 8.50 lakhs from Rajkot, 50 lakhs from Pune, 6.15 lakhs from Nasik, 4.55 lakhs from Goa, 2.50 lakhs from Belgaum, 1.35 crore from Delhi city, 20.50 lakhs from Noida, 11.25 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 9 lakhs from Kanpur, 14.75 lakhs from Lucknow, 1.25 lakhs from Agra, 3.25 lakhs from Allahabad, 24 lakhs from Gurgaon, 3.55 lakhs from Faridabad, 1 lakh from Kurukshetra, 1.50 lakhs from Panipat, 8.15 lakhs from Chandigarh, 3.50 lakhs from Jalandhar, 2.75 lakhs from Ludhiana, 40 lakhs from Calcutta, 4 lakhs from Siliguri, 2.75 lakhs from Dhanbad, 1.75 lakhs from Ranchi, 5 lakhs from Bhubaneshwar, 15.25 lakhs from Nagpur, 5.35 lakhs from Jabalpur, 5.25 lakhs from Raipur, 16.75 lakhs from Indore, 5 lakhs from Gwalior, 10 lakhs from Bhopal, 25 lakhs from Jaipur (collections from 2 cinemas unreceived), 2.50 lakhs from Ajmer, 4 lakhs from Kota, 5.50 lakhs from Udaipur, 20 lakhs from Hyderabad, 5 lakhs from Aurangabad, 55 lakhs from Bangalore, 1.50 lakhs from Vijayawada, 3.25 lakhs from Visakhapatnam, 5 lakhs from Madras, 1.15 lakhs from Coimbatore and 4 lakhs from Kochi.
