Let us commence this week’s box-office report in a very formal way, by stating the obvious- This Friday will witness the release of Kabir Khan’s Salman, Kareena and Nawazuddin starrer, BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN, which will commence on a hurricane like start and in all probabilities cross the century mark, before the Eid-ul Fitr weekend is over. On way to box-office triumph BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN will smash records, left right and centre.
Wrong and delayed timing means that the well-made Sunny-Kangana starrer, I LOVE NY, went unnoticed netting just around 1.75 crore during the opening week.
Meanwhile one can’t help but mention the other film of the same week, S.S. Rajamoli’s BAHUBALI (Tamil & Telugu), which also released in its Hindi dubbed version. The film created history by netting nearly 100 crore (for all versions combined including Hindi), during the opening weekend from India. The Hindi version too impressed by netting 20 crore during the first weekend and is a success here too! BAHUBALI has also scorched the US charts by grossing $3,575,000 during the opening weekend (10-12 July).
