This Friday will see the next magnum opus after GURU from the Mani Ratnam, Abhishek and Aishwarya team. We are obviously referring to one of the most awaited projects of 2010, RAAVAN. The icing on the cake will be the official Bollywood debut of Tamil superstar, Vikram. As is known, RAAVAN has been shot in two languages, Hindi and Tamil and dubbed into Telugu. The budget for all the three versions, including cost of print and publicity is in the region of Rs. 80 to 90 crores. It is expected that RAAVAN will have a great run, both in India and Overseas.

The opening of Partho Ghosh's EK SECOND… JO ZINDAGI BADAL DE is nothing to write home about. The film starring Manisha Koirala and politician-turned-actor Suniel Singh has little or no chances as ironically it is the political thriller RAAJNEETI that is still fairing quite strongly!

Though a section of the trade and industry had expressed doubts about the commercial prospects of Prakash Jha's political drama/thriller RAAJNEETI, the audience as always had something else in mind! The multi-starrer has done extraordinary business, yielding fantastic shares. The film collected 4.80 crores from Bombay (collections from 69 cinemas unreceived), 2.10 crores from Ahmedabad (collections from 3 cinemas unreceived), 32.75 lakhs from Baroda(collections from 6 cinemas unreceived), 67.75 lakhs from Surat, 8.15 lakhs from Nadiad, 6.70 lakhs from Valsad, 7.50 lakhs from Bharuch, 42.50 lakhs from Rajkot, 11.35 lakhs from Jamnagar, 15 lakhs from Bhavnagar, 3.60 lakhs from Porbandar, 2.30 lakhs from Morbi, 3.35 lakhs from Surendranagar, 4.50 lakhs from Junagarh, 5.55 lakhs from Bhuj, 7.65 lakhs from Gandhidham, 2.35 lakhs from Adipur, 35 lakhs from Pune, 22.35 lakhs from Nasik, 20 lakhs from Goa, 2 lakhs each from Belgaum and Bijapur, 6 crores from Delhi city, 76.15 lakhs from Noida, 61 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 40 lakhs from Kanpur, 84 lakhs from Lucknow, 14 lakhs from Agra, 21 lakhs from Allahabad, 9 lakhs from Aligarh, 1.20 crores from Gurgaon, 52.30 lakhs from Faridabad, 38 lakhs from Chandigarh, 10.65 lakhs from Ambala, 17.35 lakhs from Ludhiana, 9.50 lakhs from Kurukshetra, 1 crore from Calcutta, 3.10 lakhs from Darjeeling, 3.65 lakhs from Siliguri, 58 lakhs from Nagpur, 24 lakhs from Jabalpur, 10 lakhs from Amravati, 6.15 lakhs from Akola, 27 lakhs from Raipur, 3 lakhs each from Wardha and Sagar, 92 lakhs from Indore, 3 lakhs from Sehore, 21 lakhs from Bhopal, 3.30 lakhs from Ujjain, 1.30 crores from Jaipur, 11.50 lakhs from Jodhpur, 12.50 lakhs from Ajmer, 8.75 lakhs from Bikaner, 20 lakhs from Kota, 1.35 crores from Hyderabad, 18 lakhs from Aurangabad, 9.40 lakhs from Latur, 7.20 lakhs from Gulbarga, 80 lakhs from Bangalore, 2.30 lakhs from Davangere, 3 lakhs from Vijaywada, 9 lakhs each from Vishakhapatnam and Madras and 5 lakhs from Kochi. Netting a huge 54.50 crores in its opening week from India, RAAJNEETI's first week (Friday-Thursday) total is next only to 3 IDIOTS! The film is doing wonderfully even in its second week. In the Overseas, where there were huge doubts about RAAJNEETI's prospects, it has again done good business for its genre.
