The coming Friday will witness multiple releases in the form of Bejoy Nambiar's PIZZA (3D), late Rajesh Khanna starrer RIYASAT, Vikram Bhatt's HATE STORY 2, Vir Das's AMIT SAHNI KI LIST and KHUBSOORAT NAUKRANI to name a few! Given that it will be Sajid Nadiadwala's Salman Khan starrer, KICK, which will rule cinemas from next Friday (25th July), the new releases just have a one week window to make a mark. From the list it appears that the competition will be between the Sushant-Surveen starrer HATE STORY 2 and Dipannita’s PIZZA 3D, closely followed by AMIT SAHNI KI LIST.

Last week's major release, Dharma Productions' HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA, embarked on a good (North) to decent start (West), but maintained very well during the opening weekend, netting 32-33 crore. Given the very reasonable 30 crore cost and stable weekdays, the film is sure to be a hit. The Varun-Alia starrer has fared reasonably in the overseas (read US) grossing £65,000 from UK and $380,000 from the US, during the opening weekend (11-13 July).

Moving on, despite steady weekdays Vidya Balan's BOBBY JASOOS could not achieve anything significant as it collected 2.10 crore from Bombay (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 30.25 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 7.35 lakhs from Surat, 6 lakhs from Baroda (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 3 lakhs from Rajkot, 50 lakhs from Pune, 5.50 lakhs from Nasik, 3.15 lakhs from Goa, 1.25 lakhs from Belgaum, 1.35 crore from Delhi city, 22.15 lakhs from Noida, 12.50 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 8.65 lakhs from Kanpur, 15.50 lakhs from Lucknow, 1 lakh from Agra, 3.25 lakhs from Allahabad, 1 lakh from Aligarh, 30 lakhs from Gurgaon, 3 lakhs from Faridabad, 3.50 lakhs from Jalandhar, 3 lakhs from Amritsar, 5 lakhs from Ludhiana, 1.50 lakhs from Bhatinda, 1.50 lakhs from Jammu, 40 lakhs from Calcutta, 2.65 lakhs from Siliguri, 1 lakh from Dhanbad, 1.50 lakhs from Ranchi, 2.65 lakhs from Bhubaneshwar, 1.25 lakhs from Guwahati, 8 lakhs from Nagpur, 4 lakhs from Jabalpur, 7 lakhs from Raipur, 12 lakhs from Indore, 2.50 lakhs from Gwalior (collections from 4 cinemas unreceived), 6 lakhs from Bhopal (collections from 2 cinemas unreceived), 25 lakhs from Jaipur (collections from 7 cinemas unreceived), 3.50 lakhs from Kota, 3.50 lakhs from Udaipur, 20 lakhs from Hyderabad, 2 lakhs from Aurangabad, 45 lakhs from Bangalore, 2.25 lakhs from Mangalore, 1.75 lakhs from Vijayawada, 2.50 lakhs from Visakhapatnam, 2.65 lakhs from Madras and 1.50 lakhs from Kochi. Netting 11 crore during the opening week from India, BOBBY JASOOS has failed, given the involved costs.

The other release of the week, EROS International and Illuminati Films’ LEKAR HUM DEEWANA DIL is a washout, barely netting 2.75 crore during the opening week from India.

The film is also doing very well in the overseas grossing £ 240,000 from UK and $750,000 from the US, till the third weekend (11-13 July).
