This Friday will witness the release of Walt Disney Pictures and UTV Motion Pictures’ Remo Dsouza directed Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhu Dheva starrer, ABCD 2- ANYBODY CAN DANCE 2. Given the popular soundtrack, brand ABCD, as also mainstream stars, ABCD 2 is all set to embark on a good if not great start, across most circuits.

Last week’s Mohit Suri directed  Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan and Rajkummar Rao starrer, HAMARI ADHURI KAHANI, failed to improve much after a poor start, netting 16-17 crore during the opening weekend from India. The film is likely to turn out to be a loss making venture for all concerned. HAMARI ADHURI KAHANI is so-so in the overseas grossing £88,000 from UK and $132,000 during the opening weekend (12-14 June).

Adding another 20 crore TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS has netted 137 crore in three weeks from India. Given the all inclusive 32-33 crore cost, TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS may finally end up as an all time blockbuster. TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS is also a huge overseas hit grossing £522,000 from UK and $3,000,000 from the US till the fourth weekend (12-14 June).

Concluding with the Shoojit Sircar directed Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan, Deepika Padukone and Jisshu Sengupta starrer, PIKU, the film added another crore, thus netting 79 crore in five weeks from India and is a hit plus. PIKU is also a big overseas hit grossing $5.75m with £362,000 from UK and $2,200,000 from the US.
