This Friday will see the release of Karan Johar's STUDENT OF THE YEAR, Sandeep Malani directed JANLEVA 555, the animated DELHI SAFARI and SHUDRA – THE RISING. From the list, it will just be SOTY that will embark on a good start, more so at multiplexes of big cities and also the overseas.

Last week's three new releases were Rani Mukerji's AIYYAA, the next edition of Ram Gopal Varma's highly successful BHOOT (2003), titled BHOOT RETURNS (in 3 D), and SS Rajamouli's MAKKHI, the dubbed version of his blockbuster hit EEGA. Unfortunately all the three releases failed to make a mark and as expected it was AIYYAA that saw the best performance during the opening week, netting 4.50 crore, followed by BHOOT RETURNS with 3.50 crore and EEGA managed just 2.25 crore. The overseas too saw dismal collections for both AIYYAA and BHOOT RETURNS.
