Bollywood Box Office Report Of The Week: 21 Nov 2019

This Friday’s prominent new release is Bhushan Kumar’s John Abraham, Arshad Warsi, Pulkit Samrat, and Ileana D’Cruz starrer PAGALPANTI along with BIG Curtains Media Pvt. Ltd’s DOSTI ZINDABAD.

Needless to add that the Anees Bazmee directed film will be the front runner, though the older releases will still give a good competition to PAGALPANTI.

Coming to last week’s releases, Siddharth-Ritesh’s MARJAAVAAN and Nawazuddin-Athiya’s  MOTICHOOR CHAKNACHOOR, it was the former which decimated the latter! In fact, after a decent opening day (7 crores) MARJAAVAAN picked up steam, netting 24-25 crore during the opening weekend, and given the quite steady weekdays, it is sure to end up as a successful film. The other release MOTICHOOR CHAKNACHOOR saw outright rejection netting around 2 crores during the first weekend.

The film is also a good (read as US) overseas success grossing $3.85m with £165,000  from the UK and $1,600,000  from the US, till the second weekend (15-17 Nov).

HOUSEFULL4 is also an overseas hit (big in US) grossing over $6m with £575,000 from UK and $2,015,000 from the US.

Concluding with the second Diwali release, Reliance Entertainments’ Tapsee-Bhumi venture SAAND KI AANKH, the film added another 3 crores thus netting 23.50 crore in three weeks from India and is creditable below average, after accounting for non-theatrical rights.
