So finally the 'no new releases' phase is ending this Friday with three new films, HAPPY HUSBANDS, LIFE GOES ON and MONICA. While none of the three is expected to make an impact at the ticket window, Anup Jalota's Divya Dutta and Ashutosh Rana starrer, MONICA, being a topical film (for the hinterland), may just find some patronage at select cinemas of Uttar Pradesh.

With no new Hindi releases last Friday, many dubbed and regional films released at the cinemas but even they could not make any mark, more so due to the ICC World Cup Cricket being the first choice for the viewers. Interestingly, even a host of past hits from stars like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan too went unnoticed when distributors re-released them.

Concluding yet again with Nikhil Advani's PATIALA HOUSE, the film stays in the cinemas due to the paucity of any new release and collected 5 lakhs from Bombay (collections from 24 cinemas unreceived), 6.25 lakhs from Delhi city, 1.25 lakhs from Noida, 1 lakh from Ghaziabad, 1.20 lakhs from Lucknow, 2.50 lakhs from Gurgaon, 1.10 lakhs from Chandigarh, 3.15 lakhs from Calcutta (collections from other cinemas unreceived), and 10 lakhs from Jaipur.
