The coming Friday will witness another interesting duel in the form of Gauri Shinde’s realistic & ‘in sync with times’ venture, DEAR ZINDAGI and Rajiv Ruia directed romantic horror, SAANSEIN. Though names like Shah Rukh Khan (extended cameo) and Alia Bhatt and not to forget Gauri’s track record (ENGLISH VINGLISH) gives DEAR ZINDAGI the edge globally, but the brilliant promotion and the ever popular genre that SAANSEIN boasts of, means that it cannot be written off! Besides, Neha Dhupia & Ranvir Shorey starrer MOH MAAYA MONEY with zilch buzz is also releasing this Friday.
Last Friday saw the release of the John Abraham and Sonakshi starrer FORCE 2 and Anubhav Sinha venture TUM BIN 2. The front runner by a long shot turned out to be FORCE 2 (released at 2200 screens) while the Neha, Aditya starrer TUM BIN 2 (released at 1100 screens) lagged far behind. Coming to the numbers, while FORCE 2 netted 20 crore, TUM BIN 2 could manage just 3 crore, during the opening weekend, both totals to be validated. Given that FORCE 2 has raw budget of 35 crore, it has to show strong legs during the coming days to be considered a success. The advantage that TUM BIN 2 has is a low 6.5 crore raw budget most of which has already been recovered through an agreement with a leading marketing portal, plus the subsidy from the UK and Scottish government that will accrue later.
