Bollywood Box Office Report Of The Week: 25th July 2019

The coming week will witness the release of Balaji Motion Pictures’ Kangana Ranaut-Rajkummar Rao starrer, black comedy thriller, JUDGEMENTALL HAI KYA and  T-Series’ Diljit Dosanjh-Kriti Sanon starrer, rom-com, ARJUN PATIALA. Both the new films belong to different genres and should open decently at the ticket window, with the latter (JUDGEMENTALL HAI KYA), set for a longer stay, provided that it is a well made film!

Checking out last Friday’s releases, Rishi Kapoor’s JHOOTHA KAHIN KA, Siddhant Madhav directed  PENALTY and Jimmy Shergill starrer FAMILY OF THAKURGANJ,  none of the new releases managed anything substantial at the ticket window, and it was the first mentioned fared the best comparatively. And as expected it was Hollywood’s  animated THE LION KING (dubbed) which dominated the box-office netting 55 crore during the opening weekend and is on way to a clean hit status for sure.

The film is also a good success in the overseas (especially US)  grossing $4.10m with £195,000 from UK and $1,731,000  from the US, till the second weekend (19-21 July).
