This week will witness multiple releases in the form of Govinda's NAUGHTY @ 40, Lara Dutta's maiden home banner venture, CHALO DILLI, the Onir directed I AM and Alt Entertainment and Balaji Motion Pictures' SHOR – IN THE CITY. One feels that the bunched releases will cut into each other but SHOR IN THE CITY and CHALO DILLI will emerge the front runners, with NAUGHTY@40 Govinda in hot persuit!
The opening of Rohan Sippy's Abhishek Bachchan starrer DUM MAARO DUM was below par on the opening Friday but overall the first weekend of 16.50 crores (including Thursday paid previews of 80 lakhs) can be termed as decent. The fate of the film will depend on the weekdays. The film has under-performed in the Overseas grossing ?116,000 in the UK (till 25th April) and $328,000 during the opening weekend (22-24 April). The other release of the same week, Darsheel Safray's ZOKKOMON, has turned out to be a box-office dud.

With some more luck the Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty , Irrfan Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Rimi Sen starrer can still hope for an average tag, though it looks a tad difficult. The film has also under-performed in the Overseas (though steady on the lower end) grossing ?428,000 (till 25th April) from UK and $ 452,000 in the US till the third weekend (22-24 April).
