Bollywood Box Office Report Of The Week: 29 August 2019

This week will witness the release of BAAHUBALI hero, Prabhas’ action thriller, SAAHO.

The film is expected to open to decent houses, keeping in mind the slick action promos, beautiful locales (Austria and Abu Dhabi etc.) and Prabhas’s  popularity.

Having said that the trade too predicts that the opening will not be outstanding.

Since last week saw no new Hindi releases, it was just MISSION MANGAL and BATLA HOUSE which continued their winning march. Let’s take a look at their first week performance!

Netting 126 crore during the extended (8-day) opening week, MISSION MANGAL is a super hit, given the quite reasonable production cost (35 crore sans Akshay’s remuneration). The film is superb in the overseas grossing $4.90m with  £370,000 from UK and $2,715,000  from the US till the second weekend (23-25 August).

Netting 60 crore plus during the extended (8-day) opening week from India, BATLA HOUSE is on way to a hit status.

The film has not performed well in the overseas though it has grossed a fair $450,000 from the US till the second weekend.
