Bollywood box-office report of the week : 3 april 2014

The coming Friday will witness the release of David Dhawan's Varun, Nargis and Ileana starrer MAIN TERA HERO and Girish Malik's Mukul, Purab, Tannishtha and Kirti starrer JAL. Given the reasonably popular music and good promotion, it'll be MAIN TERA HERO which may occupy the pole position while JAL is sure to get a lot of critical acclaim and patronization from the discerning multiplex audience.

Meanwhile last week's three releases, Shilpa Shetty produced DISHKIYAOON, the Syed Ahmad Afzal directed YOUNGISTAAN and Atul Agnihotri's O TERI, behaved very much as expected and predicted. It was Jackky Bhagnani's YOUNGISTAAN which took a decisive lead over DISHKIYAOON and O TERI Saturday onwards. As things stand, YOUNGISTAN is likely to end the first week with 9-10 crore, with DISHKIYAOON hovering at 7.50 crore and O TERI near to the 5 crore mark. QUEEN has also rocked the overseas (given the cost and cast) grossing ?160,000 from UK and 1,180,000 from the US till the fourth weekend (28-30 March).
