This week's new release, Abhinav Kashyap's BESHARAM, will hit the cinemas on a Wednesday, (Gandhi Jayanti) instead of the regular Friday. Given Abhinav's last blockbuster DABANGG and the super star status of Ranbir Kapoor (more so after BARFI and YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI), BESHARAM is expected to embark on a big start, both in India and overseas.

From the bunched releases of last week which included, Chandan Roy Sanyal's PRAGUE, the Veena Malik starrer SUPER MODEL, MAAZII and RAQT as well as Hollywood's ELYSIUM, it was just Anubhav Sinha's Gurmmeet Singh directed WARNING 3D, which not only embarked on comparatively the best start of the lot but showed a day wise escalation netting around 3.25 crore during the opening weekend. Unfortunately, WARNING 3D just has two more days to consolidate as BESHARAM will take away most of the screen space, Wednesday onwards. Just as a comparison, the remaining releases (barring Hollywood's ELYSIUM) were all below the 50 lakh mark!
