This week's hot new release is going to be Karan Johar's Punit Malhotra directed I HATE LUV STORYS. The Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer is keenly awaited by the campus crowd and has seen quite favourable reactions from focus screenings. The film is expected to embark on a good start at multiplexes and also at high end cinemas in the cities.

Last Friday's KRANTIVEER-THE REVOLUTION saw a dull to weak opening across India. The reason is very simple. The makers had hoped that the promising newcomer (but still very young and in experienced) Jahan Bloch would take over from where the actors of the caliber of Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia left in KRANTIVEER. And it was just not possible! The other release of the same week MR. SINGH MRS. MEHTA saw a selective release and fared worse than KRANTIVEER sequel! Once again the makers were hoping that Aruna Shields bold scene would do the trick but it did not!

Mani Ratnam's RAAVAN has not found much appreciation, the Tamil version RAAVANAN and the dubbed Telugu version VILLAIN, have fared much better than the Hindi version. Trade feels that the worldwide distributor Reliance Big Pictures is bound to lose around a third of its huge investment, after taking into account the business of all the three versions. The film collected 4.20 crores from Bombay, 1.30 lakhs from Lonavala, 95 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 30.05 lakhs from Baroda, 34.35 lakhs from Surat, 6.55 lakhs from Anand, 2.40 lakhs from Nandiad, 4.60 lakhs from Vapi, 3.35 lakhs each from Valsad and Navsari, 5.10 lakhs from Bharuch, 2 lakhs each from Himmatnagar and Palanpur, 3.15 lakhs from Bardoli, 2.50 lakhs from Mehsana, 22.15 lakhs from Rajkot, 5 lakhs from Jamnagar, 5.20 lakhs from Bhavnagar, 1.25 lakhs from Porbandar, 2.40 lakhs from Bhuj, 3.25 lakhs from Gandhidham, 1.15 lakhs from Adipur, 1.05 crore from Pune, 5.05 lakhs from Kolhapur, 1.05 lakhs from Satara, 4.10 lakhs from Solapur, 3.50 lakhs from Sangli, 16.15 lakhs from Nasik, 2.20 lakhs from Ahmednagar, 15.65 lakhs from Goa, 6.10 lakhs from Hubli, 7.85 lakhs from Belgaum, 1.50 lakhs from Bijapur, 3 crores from Delhi city, 41.65 lakhs from Noida, 46.80 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 17.20 lakhs from Kanpur, 35 lakhs from Lucknow, 9.50 lakhs from Agra, 12 lakhs from Varanasi, 10 lakhs from Allahabad, 9 lakhs from Meerut, 5 lakhs from Moradabad, 3.60 lakhs from Aligarh, 9.35 lakhs from Gorakhpur, 3.45 lakhs from Mathura, 67.85 lakhs from Gurgaon, 25.65 lakhs from Faridabad, 31.35 lakhs from Chandigarh, 6 lakhs from Ambala, 20 lakhs from Ludhiana, 9.50 lakhs from Amritsar, 4.25 lakhs from Kurukshetra, 4 lakhs from Hissar, 5.35 lakhs from Panipat, 8.15 lakhs from Jammu, 1.20 crore from Calcutta, 7.25 lakhs from Siliguri, 10.65 lakhs from Guwahati, 24.25 lakhs from Nagpur, 9.30 lakhs from Jabalpur, 3.35 lakhs from Amravati, 2.45 lakhs from Akola, 18.15 lakhs from Raipur, 2 lakhs each from Chandrapur and Bilaspur, 1.50 lakhs from Khandwa, 38.75 lakhs from Indore, 1.65 lakhs from Sehore, 8.75 lakhs from Gwalior(collections from 2 cinemas unreceived), 11 lakhs from Bhopal, 1.30 lakhs from Ujjain, 2 lakhs from Dewas, 42.85 lakhs from Jaipur, 11 lakhs from Jodhpur, 5.25 lakhs from Ajmer, 6.20 lakhs from Udaipur, 3.20 lakhs from Bhilwara, 10.75 lakhs from Kota, 2.30 lakhs from Sriganganagar, 1.15 lakhs from Kishangarh, 1.05 crore from Hyderabad, 14.55 lakhs from Aurangabad, 3.60 lakhs from Nanded, 7.75 lakhs from Latur, 5 lakhs from Gulbarga, 1.60 crore from Bangalore, 8.60 lakhs from Mangalore, 5 lakhs from Vijaywada, 10.30 lakhs from Vishakhapatnam, 25.30 lakhs from Madras and 7.25 lakhs from Ernakulam.
