With no prominent film(s) listed for release this week, the Rohit Shetty directed SIMMBA will continue to rule the box-office. Having said that, there is Pehal Entertainment’s MUMBAI GANGSTER that may just make a blink and miss appearance!
Last Friday’s mega release, Dharma Productions, Reliance Entertainment and Rohit Shetty Picturez’ Ranveer-Sara starrer, SIMMBA capitalised a good start (bumper in Mumbai-Maharashtra) as it netted 20.50 crore and upped the ante with the collections hitting the roof on Sunday, thereby netting 75 crore during the opening weekend. The film continued with a rock steady weekday run and zipped past the 100 crore mark on Tuesday and by the end of the day the collections stood at an astonishing 125 crore! As things stand, SIMMBA is all set to be a super hit and more. SIMMBA has also rocked the overseas grossing $5.60m with £250,000 from UK and $1,760,000 from the US, during the opening weekend (28-30 December).

One cannot help but mention the dubbed film KGF : CHAPTER 1 which saw quite an impressive first week (in the wake of ZERO) netting 20 crore and is an unquestionable success for a Hindi (dubbed) venture.
