The coming Friday sees two prominent releases, T-Series’ and Bhansali Productions’ MALAAL and the Karanvir Bohra and Samir Kochar starrer, HUME TUMSE PYAAR KITNA. None of the two are expected to make much of a mark as the older releases, the still hot KABIR SINGH and the much acclaimed ARTICLE 15, will continue to lure in the audiences. Having said that, Hollywood’s SPIDER MAN : FAR AWAY FROM HOME (dubbed), which releases today (Thursday), may score better than the new films of this week.
Checking out last week’s major venture, Anubhav Sinha’s Ayushmann Khurana starrer ARTICLE 15, just a s expected and predicted, after a dull opening day (5 crore), the film picked up during the weekend (20 crore) and maintained very well during the weekdays. The first week may well up at around 35 crore and the moderately priced film, which is already a success, is likely to end up a clean hit at the end of it’s run. ARTICLE 15 has also performed well in the overseas, grossing $1m with £51,000 from UK and $6,500,000 from the US, during the opening weekend (28-30 June).
The other release, Sa Re Ga Ma and Yoodlee Films’, Kunal Kapoor’s NOBLEMEN garnered some critical acclaim but no returns at the box-office.
