Last Friday saw Wide Angle Media Pvt. Ltd.'s BHOOT AND FRIENDS and Ahmad World Studios' ADA … A WAY OF LIFE. The only well known thing about BHOOT AND FRIENDS was Jackie Shroff while it was A. R. Rahman's music for ADA… A WAY OF LIFE.

Unfortunately both the films saw poor to very weak openings and both will end up as trade disasters.

This week will see the release of the Rani-Vidya starrer NO ONE KILLED JESSICA, Sayali Bhagat's IMPATIENT VIVEK and the Deepal Shaw starrer VIKALP. There is no doubt that the front runner by a long margin is going to be NO ONE KILLED JESSICA, especially at good cinemas of big cities.

With poor collections, TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO proves yet again that animation films still don't have a market in India. Netting just around 2.80 crores during the opening week the Ajay-Kajol starrer TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO is a resounding flop. The film is also a washout in the Overseas.

Unfortunately Rajshri Production Pvt Ltd's ISI LIFE MEIN…! showed no signs of life at all collecting barely 15 lakhs from Bombay (collections from 16 cinemas unreceived), 4 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 1.25 lakhs from Rajkot, 1 lakh from Pune, 5.15 lakhs from Delhi city, 1 lakh from Lucknow, 2 lakhs from Calcutta (collections from 3 cinemas unreceived), 1 lakh from Raipur and 10 lakhs from Jaipur. Despite stiff competition from new releases , Yash Raj's BAND BAAJA BAARAAT continues to do well collecting 40 lakhs from Bombay (collections from 2 cinemas unreceived), 10 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 1.20 lakhs from Baroda (collections from 3 cinemas unreceived), 1 lakh from Nasik, 25 lakhs from Delhi city, 3 lakhs from Noida, 2.25 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 1.20 lakhs from Agra, 10 lakhs from Gurgaon, 1.60 lakhs from Faridabad, 1.55 lakhs from Chandigarh, 4.25 lakhs from Calcutta (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 2.20 lakhs from Nagpur, 1 .20 lakhs from Raipur, 1.50 lakhs from Jaipur (collections from 2 cinemas unreceived), 5.35 lakhs from Hyderabad and 8.15 lakhs from Bangalore.

Adding another 2 crores (approx) BAND BAAJA BAARAAT has netted nearly 19 crores in three weeks from India. The starless film is a creditable above average. BAND BAAJA BAARAAT is unfortunately a washout in the Overseas, grossing a paltry ?63,082 from UK till the fourth weekend.
