The coming Friday will see the release of Vikram Bhatt's Mahakshay starrer HAUNTED 3D and Y-Films division Yash Raj Films' LUV KA THE END. Given the good promotion, thanks to some crisp teasers, HAUNTED 3D is likely to win the battle but LUV KA THE END will also find patronage at some multiplexes of 'A' centres.
No one expected the new releases like NAUGHTY @ 40, Lara Dutta's maiden home banner venture, CHALO DILLI, Onir's I AM or Balaji Motion Pictures' SHOR – IN THE CITY to set the box-office on fire. Still, it did appear that CHALO DILLI and SHOR IN THE CITY would appeal to the multiplexes and NAUGHTY @ 40 at mass oriented centres. But that did not quite happen and only SHOR IN THE CITY posted some decent numbers (3.85 crores in 4-days) followed by CHALO DILLI with 3 crores during the opening weekend. The rest of the releases could not manage even half decent numbers.
Despite losing out on a good first day haul, Rohan Sippy's DUM MAARO DUM managed a decent first week.
