Bollywood Box Office Report Of The Week: 5 Sept 2019

This week will see the release of Fox Star Studios and Sajid Nadiadwala’s Sushant Singh Rajput starrer, CHHICHHORE. The Nitesh Tiwari directed venture is expected to open to  good houses (decent at places) as its trailers and songs have been lapped up by the public. 

Checking out last week’s major release, BAAHUBALI hero  Prabhas’ action thriller, SAAHO, the film saw a big start (25 crore) and maintained superbly netting a huge 80 crore during the opening weekend.

In fact the film is maintaining decently during the weekdays as well and appears to be heading for a 115 crore finish, which is excellent. Interestingly SAAHO is more stable in the Hindi belt as opposed to the Southern circuit(s).

The first week all India (all versions) looks set to cross 255 crore, but the question is will it still cover the huge investment in the long run? SAAHO has performed well in the overseas (good in US) grossing  £200,000 from UK and $2,375,000  from the US during the opening weekend (August30-September1).

The film is superb in the overseas grossing  £440,000 from UK and $3,320,0000  from the US, till the third weekend (August30-September1).

Adding another 24 crore BATLA HOUSE has netted 84 crore in two weeks from India. BATLA HOUSE is on way to a hit status. The film has not performed well in the overseas though it has grossed a decent  $500,000 from the US.
