Adv.

No prizes for guessing that this Friday's new release, the Rohit Shetty directed Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer CHENNAI EXPRESS, is all set to embark on one of the best starts (if not the best) of the year. The film is likely to set some new milestones, the first of which may well be the opening 3-day weekend record. The film is also expected rock the overseas, with more than 700 prints.

None of the new releases of last week, except Shilpa Shukla's B.A. PASS and to a lesser extent the Deepak Dobriyal and Priya Bhatija starrer CHOR CHOR SUPER CHOR, could make much of an impact. With CHENNAI EXPRESS releasing this Friday, the prospect gets bleaker.

Moving on, the Tusshar-Vishakha starrer, BAJATEY RAHO, saw a fair first week as it collected 75 lakhs from Bombay (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 15.50 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 7 lakhs from Surat, 5 lakhs from Baroda (collections from 4 cinemas unreceived), 1.55 lakhs from Rajkot, 10.50 lakhs from Pune, 2 lakhs from Nasik, 2 lakhs from Goa, 75 lakhs from Delhi city, 10.55 lakhs from Noida, 8.50 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 5.75 lakhs from Kanpur, 10.75 lakhs from Lucknow, 2 lakhs from Agra, 3.50 lakhs from Allahabad, 15 lakhs from Gurgaon, 2.75 lakhs from Faridabad, 2.15 lakhs from Panipat, 3.65 lakhs from Chandigarh, 2 lakhs from Jalandhar, 1 lakh from Amritsar, 2 lakhs from Ludhiana, 1 lakh from Ambala, 10 lakhs from Calcutta, 1 lakh from Siliguri, 2.50 lakhs from Bhubaneswar 1.15 lakhs from Guwahati, 2.25 lakhs from Nagpur, 3.50 lakhs from Raipur, 6.75 lakhs from Indore, 2.50 lakhs from Gwalior (collections from 3 cinemas unreceived), 3 lakhs from Bhopal (collections from 2 cinemas unreceived), 10 lakhs from Jaipur (collections from 6 cinemas unreceived), 1.75 lakhs from Ajmer, 2.75 lakhs from Kota, 2 lakhs from Udaipur, 6.55 lakhs from Hyderabad, 12 lakhs from Bangalore, 1 lakh from Visakhapatnam and 1 lakh from Madras.
