Bollywood box-office report of the week : 9 june 2011

The coming Friday will once again see multiple releases in the form of Anurag Kashyap's SHAITAN, Subhash Ghai's LOVE EXPRESS and the English film with the 'desi' cast WEST IS WEST. Given the fact that READY is still quite strong it will be a threat to the new releases even during the second weekend. Still, the Bijoy Nambiar directed SHAITAN and WEST IS WEST will find selective patronage.

The start of Anees Bazmee's READY has indeed turned out to be earth shaking, and that from East to West and North to South! Not only that, after a huge weekend, the film has managed quite a steady run even during the weekdays. It is expected that by the end of the first week the Salman-Asin starrer READY is likely to fetch something around 65 crores. In the Overseas READY has done quite well grossing ?237,000 from UK and $461,000 from US during the opening weekend (3-5 June).

Needless to add that the other film of the same week, A STRANGE LOVE STORY, is a washout.
