As the results of various schools all over the country are being announced, the top creamy layer would be able to get admission in one school or the other of their choice, but the majority that is those who have been stuck between 35-70%, as the dialogue of F.A.L.T.U says, do not know where to go. It is this disgruntled element of the so-called youth of the country that can rise in revolt if their concerns and their predicaments are not addressed to.
It indeed is heartening that our film makers have now started addressing the issue of education and try to bring out the lacuna of the education system of the country. Indeed, what F.A.L.T.U. has done is to re-position our old education system that gave big emphasis to vocational training, i.e. an individual was allowed to pursue specialized education based on his or her preference for education.
This fact comes in an enforced manner in the second half of the film and the last half hour indeed is real climax of the film and Remo D Souza, director and the choreographer has indeed underlined why he is a talent to watch out for. Jackky Bhagnani has also come up with a restrained performance and in conjunction with Arshad Warsi and Riteish Deshmukh he has been able to pull off a competent show.
The dialogues of the film are also contextual and F.A.L.T.U. is a film that would surely be liked by the youth of the country. Jackky Bhagnani seems to have realized that if he addresses the issues of youth of the present times and takes on board strong character actors of the likes of Arshad Warsi and Ritiesh Deshmukh, then indeed he can carve out a niche for himself in Hindi film industry. This precisely could be reason, why, though a new heroine has been introduced through F.A.L.T.U., no romantic overtures have been shown on the screen, probably in sync with the present times that a boy and a girl can be friends, and friendship can be gender neutral.
Prof Anil Gupta of IIM Ahmedabad has been advocating this cause for quite a long time, and he would indeed be pleased that first through 3 IDIOTS and now through F.A.L.T.U. the cause of initiating processes that would facilitate the proliferation of latent talents in youth of the present times, outside the conventional educational process, interlaced with modern trappings for the youth indeed would be able to bring more and more youth to think out of the box and break the league. Only sour element of the film was wastage of the colossal talent of Boman Irani and one hope that Vashu Bhagnani would realize this and would give him another opportunity to be a star in his subsequent films to come.
