Yesterday we published our interview where the talented actress Srishti Shrivastava spoke at length about her journey from Reyhaneh Jabbari to Guddo in Gulabo Sitabo.
When quipped about her experience/learnings while working with the legends like Amitabh Bachchan, the established Ayushman Khurrana and scene stealers like Vijay Raaz, Bijendra Kala, the elated Srishti Shrivastava elaborated on her fascinating experience and learnings. Here is what she said, excerpts…
Amitabh Bachchan sir is a book. If you just sit next to him, you will take 10 things back into your diary. The things which Bachchan sir has done as Mirza, will remain in my memory for long. The most important thing I learnt from Amitabh Bachchan sir is to remain passionate and determined towards your craft till time lasts. If I am passionate towards my craft, my role then I have no stress. He is a dream on screen but when you see him on sets there is so much to learn. I have repeatedly said that I am extremely lucky to be associated in a movie starring him.
Apart from his caliber as a fine actor, Ayushman Khurrana is a wonderful person as well.
I remember the first day of my shoot with him. He was shooting for another movie and came on the sets after completing that schedule. I have done my couple of scenes. He came on the sets, walks towards me and said, “Hey I loved you in Gully Boy”, I said wow! Now that’s the welcome from an established star actor like Ayushmann to me. I have never met him, and this is the way he greeted me. Amazing. He is may be the ‘star’ on the set, but he made everyone at ease. He used to make the atmosphere so cordial and friendly on the set.
Interview: Srishti Shrivastava: Exploring new horizons
He is the most interesting person I have met. Extremely helpful and fun on sets. The way he makes his character his own is incredible. Blessed with this incredible ability to improvise at the throw of a hat.
A person who knows why he is on the set. Like Vijay Raaz, Bijendra sir also has this unique ability to make the given character their own with his nuances.
Well, now that’s quite an education/masterclass in acting for the talented actress Srishti Shrivastava who loves to dance as well.
Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana in lead, Gulabo Sitabo is directed by Shoojit Sircar, and written by Juhi Chaturvedi. The movie will stream worldwide on Prime Video from 12 June 2020.
