Movie review of MUSHKIL, FEAR BEHIND YOU
Rajiv S Ruia’s movie has all the elements of an old school horror. The things as ordered by the horror doctors are made available. The movie opens with a supernatural feeling and then changes tone by making the eyes of the audience pop up with the haunting beauty of Greece. On paper, this scenario looks very interesting, eye popping visuals, an unexplained scare, supernatural elements and of course good v/s evil. All the properties are there and unless you desire to make a statement in the genre like RGV’s BHOOTH, James Van THE CONJURING or Jordan Peele’s US did exceptionally, you don’t have to bother about the plot but a constant supply of fear is a must. The movie does deliver some smarts in giving the audience the eerie feeling but it’s in bits and pieces. The overall tension is missing and the mystical curiosity declines as the execution is straight forward and to the face. Sincere efforts of Kunaal Roy Kapur and Rajniesh Duggall go waste. The eye popping visuals of Greece try to overcome the defects but they keep haunting as the scenic locales of the country.
