Rani played the role of Vibhavari, affectionately called Badki in LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG. She was very protective of her family and as things go from bad to worse, she is forced to become the exclusive call girl, Natasha. It was a very bold character and Rani carried off without even appearing to be vulgar.

RAJA KI AAYEGI BARAAT & MEHNDI

From her debut film, RAJA KI AAYEGI BARAAT, Rani has been very open to bold roles. In this film, she plays the role of Mala who is oppressed by her in-laws and she has to fights back for her rights. In MEHNDI too, Pooja’s (Rani Mukerji) life is made a living hell because the dowry demands kept by her in-laws weren’t met. She had to go against her in-laws and battle for her liberty.
