Aamir Khan, who is gearing up for the second season of his hard-hitting talk show ‘Satyamev Jayate 2’, revealed at a recent media interaction that he has been approached by the Election Commission of India to be a part of their election campaign.

”Actually, I have received a request from the Election Commission to be a part of their campaign. I don’t know whether I am even allowed to reveal it. But yes, you can say that this was an unofficial request to see if I am available. And I have given them my availability. Now I am awaiting their reply,” disclosed Aamir.
He further added, ”Through this campaign, we will encourage people to vote and also make sure youngsters come forward and register themselves to get their new Voter IDs.”

Aamir further stated that he would not be aligning with any political party. ”I would either support a thought or not, irrespective of the political party. I would not align myself with any political party.”
Directed by Satyajit Bhatkal, who also directed the first season, ‘Satyamev Jayate 2’ will be aired from March 2, 2014.
