Aamir Khan starrer TALAASH probably would be the last film where the old Bombay would be seen, specially where chawls, mills and smaller buildings are concerned.

TALAASH has been shot in places in Mumbai that we have not seen in the recent past. It has been extensively shot in Charni Road, Lower Parel, Colaba, Grant Road and Central Bombay parts of Mumbai city.

Two places where TALAASH shot the chawl and mill both in Lower Parel have already given way to construction.

The film is shot in real locations as opposed to sets. The unit hasn't used even one set and it had to short list 520 locations and finally they got to shoot in 47 locations.

Director Reema Katgi says, 'Real locations…mostly old structures and buildings that are fast fading from Mumbai have been used in the film.'

After couple of months when the unit went back they saw the place demolished as it was given away to construction. For patch work, Reema had to resort to finding new places or CG as within one year those places disappeared.

CG is a process where the background and foreground are different and merged on computer. So, the unit used earlier shots taken during the recce in final film and merged with actual shots.

Also starring Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor TALAASH releases on 30th November 2012.
