Tom Alter, actor, producer & stage artist, who has worked in TV, films and on stage, is a name to reckon with. The Padma Shri actor has contributed to the field of arts and cinema and he is now sadly battling cancer.
As per the latest reports doing the rounds, the veteran actor had a relapse of a squamous cell carcinoma. He is under treatment and expert supervision at Mumbai's saifee hospital.
Tom Alter has been part of more than 300 movies and particularly remembered for roles in 90s superhit film AASHIQUI and many others. He has done various TV shows. Tom is also a renowned name in Theatre. A gold medalist diploma graduate in acting in 1974 from Film and Television Institute of India in Pune was a sports journalist in the late 1980s to early 1990s. He was the first person to interview Sachin Tendulkar for TV when the cricketer was yet to play for India.
