It is a known fact that Rani Mukerji is playing a cop for the first time in Aditya Chopra's MARDAANI. However, what makes the arrival of the film all the more interesting is the fact it would now be coming right after Ajay Devgn's cop act in SINGHAM 2.
While Ajay is bringing his SINGHAM 2 on 15th August, Rani's MARDAANI is coming exactly a week later i.e. 22nd August. No wonder, it is going to be one cop-out of a month indeed.
Well, there is more. It was just a year and a half back when Ajay Devgn and Aditya Chopra were caught in a battle when their SON OF SARDAAR and JAB TAK HAI JAAN had decided to arrive on the same day. There was quite some exchange of words, courtesy the fight for screen space that had ensued.
However, one truly hopes that that there won't be any repetition of that with MARDAANI coming right after SINGHAM 2. Though both are major films and belong to same genre with a similar set of target audience, it is expected that Ajay Devgn as well as Aditya Chopra would be getting a fair share of single screens for their respective films.
Thankfully though, the two films are not clashing on the same day as that could well have led to a full-fledged war. Still, with Ajay as well as Rani being seen in a cop avatar and that too in quick succession, there are going to be firecrackers indeed.
Incidentally, both the lead actors are playing Maharashtrian cops in their respective films. While Ajay's name in SINGHAM is Bajirao, Rani is playing the character of Shivani Shivaji Rao in MARDAANI.
