Eight months after BOSS, Akshay Kumar is now returning to the big screen with Vipul Shah's HOLIDAY. An action entertainer which also marks the return of A.R. Murugadoss as a director for a Hindi film, HOLIDAY is expectedly high on action and quite a few dare devil stunts.
'The idea was to get truly different stunts in the film,' informs our source, 'Now Vipul is a firm believer that if you want something different then you have to go elsewhere to get it. So much so that he brought over one of the best stunts team in the world from England. Greg Powell had a job in hand to choreograph most of the action in the film.'
No wonder, the kind of vision that Murugadoss, Akshay and Vipul carried for the film, as far as the action was involved, was well taken care of by Powell who was happy to incorporate some never seen before stunts in the film.
'One of my favorite sequences in the whole film is the gun fight that we shot in the old abandoned kitchens,' reveals Akshay, 'There is no fancy trickery or any special effects on display there. It's just me and the fighters indulging in some hand to hand combat in an enclosed environment.'
Akshay continues to be overwhelmed by the sequence and is rooting for it even as the film is just five weeks away from arrival.
'It was a fight like I have never shot before; hats off to the stunt team,' smiles Akshay, 'Ok, so it may not blow your mind but then it was never meant to. It was made to make you go 'wow' and in that aspect, it worked big time.'
How that happens indeed is something that we would get to see soon once the film hits the screens.
