After making people laugh in TERE BIN LADEN and smile along in MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN, one would have expected that Ali Zafar would get into an out and out light hearted mode for his third outing 'LONDON PARIS NEW YORK' as well. Right? Wrong, in fact. That's because if those connected to the film are to be believed, Ali's character carries shades of grey as well.
''A substantial portion of the film delves into an unexplored territory for the actor. Those who feel that he would be getting into any over the top laughaton are in for a surprise as there is a different Ali up for grabs here'', informs a senior crew member.
As per those who have had a dekko at the film, this would happen during the Paris episode where the film would get into a darker space.
''It would be in Paris where graph would change for Ali and his co-star Aditi Rao Hydari, says a source, ''Though there would be light hearted moments during the London episode and one would see Ali in the way he has been accepted so far, there is some bit of experimentation when the story moves to Paris. This is the point where Ali had to change his acting style and move away from the fun loving persona that he has carried so far.''
On the other hand the film moves towards its decisive moments during the final episode set in New York. ''Well yes, that's the fact because LONDON PARIS NEW YORK isn't the kind of film that stays on a lighter note right through its narrative. Aisa nahi hai bas hasee mazaak kiya aur ghar waapas aa gaye. I do get into a darker space, especially in Paris'', says Ali.
Here is hoping that audience accepts this new side of Ali Zafar as well.
