Both the new releases of the week, Vivek Oberoi’s topical PM NARENDRA MODI and Arjun Kapoor’s INDIA’S MOST WANTED, failed to appeal to the viewers. The opening of the two films hovered around the 5-6 percent mark. From the two, based on better reviews and audience feedback IMW has better chances (comparatively), in the long run.
In fact the week belonged to Hollywood’s ALADDIN which saw a decent start and patronage from the families with kids in tow, more so due to school vacations.
Meanwhile Luv Ranjan’s Akiv Ali directed Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet starrer DE DE PYAAR DE saw a good opening week netting 56-57 crore, and has gone into the second week with steady collections (especially during the latter shows) and is already a success and may finally end up as a an above average or even a semi-hit status.
