At the trailer launch of PIKU, Big B was asked if he has implemented any of his personal experience in the film while shooting for it to which he said, “I did my first job in Kolkata and I stayed there for eight years. I keep on vising there often as I cannot forget the environment there. I keep on telling my co-stars that whenever you are feeling depressed go to Kolkata. The people there are so passionate that they will awaken you. And how many every years I have spent and whatever I have learned there, you might get to see a part of it in PIKU.”
“What more should I say, it is always great to go back to a place where you have stayed & worked before. It makes you nostalgic and all the old memories flash in front of you. Because I have stayed in Kolkata for eight years, whenever I go there, I visit the places where I have stayed & where I have worked. My boss, the people whom I use to meet & whom I use to work with, I still visit their places and meet them or call them to my place so the atmosphere is very good.” He added.
Further telling us about his special Kolkata connection Big B said, “Like you all must know, I am Kolkata’s son-in-law as my wife is a Bengali, so this bond cannot break only.”
PIKU also stars Deepika Padukone & Irrfan Khan in the lead. Directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by NP Singh, Ronnie Lahiri and Shena Rajani, PIKU is set to release on 8th May, 2015.
