Parineeti Chopra is in no mood to go slow as she is doing back-to-back films and she's seen grabbing all the right opportunity for doing right films. Her upcoming film NAMASTE ENGLAND release date is just around the corner and she's even shooting for JABARIYA JODI opposite Sidharth Malhotra, along with she will be seen playing lead in Akshay Kumar starrer KESARI and now she has bagged a lead role in a sequel to the Anurag Basu's 2007 musical hit LIFE IN A METRO.
Parineeti will be paired opposite Rajkummar Rao. This will be for the first time that Parineeti will be sharing screen space with Rajkummar Rao. Parineeti has been admiring Anurag's work and was keen to work with him. Even Anurag has followed Parineeti's previous films and wanted to collaborate with her in the sequel.
Reportedly, in a leading publication, a source stated that Parineeti always wanted to work with Anurag as she loves his films and his vision to make something extraordinarily different. She liked the script and instantly gave her nod. Anurag has already started work on the pre-production. The filmmaker is keen to take the film on the floors as soon as possible.
LIFE IN A METRO had an ensemble cast of Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja, Dharmendra, Nafisa Ali, Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kangana Ranaut, Kay Kay Menon and Sharman Joshi. It revolved around six stories, of nine people, each with different issues and problems, all occurring with one setting as the common backdrop, the metro. While the sequel will also feature an ensemble cast, many names have been doing rounds like, Abhishek Bachchan, Ileana D’Cruz, Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, there hasn’t been any confirmation yet.
In August, Anurag had posted, “Casting of an ensemble film can only be locked after securing combination dates of all the actors. It’s a very difficult task; everyone’s calendars are full for the year… Final cast will be announced soon.”
