For the first time in Indian cinema, the two parts of a film will release together in theaters. Both the parts of Anurag Kashyap’s GANGS OF WASSEYPUR will be playing in cinemas back-to-back this Wednesday, August 8.

Seeing the overwhelming response for GANGS OF WASSEYPUR part one that released on June 22nd, 2012, the makers of the film decided to re-release the film along with part two in order to refresh everyone’s memories.

As the two films follow a trail of crime saga, this will serve out to be a brilliant move for audiences as they’ll be able to revive the story line of part one and hence enjoy part two even more.

Such a phenomenon has never been seen before in the history of Indian cinema. The last the world ever saw this happening in theaters was when GODFATHER’s series ran back-to-back in the theaters. Running films in series one after the other is completely a Hollywood phenomenon and this strategy is being adopted by an Indian film for the first time. GANGS OF WASSEYPUR is all set to adopt this strategy in India as the makers of the film are very positive of this move.

The film will be running continuous in many theaters with a gap of 15minutes between part one and part two. As the content of the film is quite like GODFATHER, GANGS can be repeatedly seen owing to its raunchy songs and quirky sense of humor. Both the films are a complete package of power-packed performances, witty humor, entertaining soundtrack, gripping narrative and the script’s ability to surprise the audience at every move. It narrates a tale of vengeance in a way no other film has done ever before. Part one was mainly Sardar Khan’s story played by Manoj Bajpai. Part two is going to be the revenge tale of Faizal Khan played by Nawazzudin.

”It’s true both the films are going to release together on Wednesday August 8 across theaters in India. After part one received such a terrific response, we thought it would be a good move to re-release with part two. We are hoping the audiences like part two as well and are anxiously awaiting to see everyone’s reactions,” says the spokesperson of the film.
