While Kareena Kapoor stays on to be the numero uno heroine when it comes to be a part of the 100 crore grossing films and Priyanka Chopra has as well joined the league with DON 2 and AGNEEPATH, the one who has managed this feat much earlier is Asin. With GHAJINI being Bollywood's first century affair and READY making it two in a row for the South import, Asin has now been promised by the makers of her next film HOUSEFULL 2 that she would now enjoy yet another 100 crore runner.
"Sajid Khan is known for giving each of his cast members a note on the first day of his film's shoot. Other than some personal comments that he jots down for various individuals, he also honours them with a statement that goes as – 'Welcome to the biggest hit of your career'," informs a crew member, "Earlier for HEYY BABYY and HOUSEFULL he did that for Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan, Lara Dutta and Arjun Rampal amongst others. Now for HOUSEFULL 2 as well he did this for all his actors, including Asin."
When all actors opened their respective letters, it did act as a motivating factor. However this is when Riteish reminded Sajid that Asin's biggest success till then was GHAJINI (READY hadn't released by then) so the 'biggest hit' factor would indeed be a major milestone to accomplish. However, everyone was assured by Sajid in his characteristic style that HOUSEFULL 2 would definitely cross the moolah earned by GHAJINI.
Obviously, Asin was thrilled to bits. She comments, "Yes, I did receive this letter on the very first day of the shoot of HOUSEFULL 2. I hope Sajid's prophecy does come true and HOUSEFULL 2 indeed breaks previous records. Why would I mind getting my third century?"
Though for all actors it would mean a real personal achievement if a record like this is indeed created, even for producer Sajid Nadiadwala it would be a reason to smile since HOUSEFULL stays on to be the biggest grosser of his banner as well. If HOUSEFULL 2 enters the 100 crore club, it would mark his foray into the league of top grossers as well. Says Nadiadwala, "When HEYY BABYY released, it was our biggest hit and then HOUSEFULL upped it by 25 crores. If Sajid Khan says that over 100 crores are on the cards here, there is no reason to doubt his conviction and confidence."
