Asin: You need to fix your target audience

After enjoying a fantastic 2012 where she scored a hat trick of successes in the form of HOUSEFULL 2, BOL BACHCHAN AND KHILADI 786, Asin is looking at an eventful 2013 ahead where she steps into the kind of roles that allow her even more performance oriented outings. In terms of some of the best commercial films coming her way, she has already shared screen space with the likes of Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn.

Even though in her Bollywood stint, she has only one disappointment in the form of LONDON DREAMS, by and large it seems as if she has cracked the formula as far as picking up some of the most happening projects is concerned.

“Well, if anyone had a formula for this then they would have been successful all the time,” she smiles, “You need to fix your target audience. I have been trying to do that and thankfully have been successful in my endeavour.”

This was apparent in the choices she made over the year gone by as each of her three films worked with their target audience, be it multiplexes or single screens respectively. One can well assume that she could have seen all of that that coming.

“I expected my films to do well with the target audience,” she says, “You get an inkling of the kind of stuff which would appeal to audience. Of course you can’t predict everything but just hope that it would all fit in due to the kind of ingredients put together during the making. I am glad that my films met the kind of expectations audience had from them.”
