Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to break free from playing urban dudes(that he’s played back-to-back in his three films) through his upcoming film DUM LAGA KE HAISHA. For the first time ever, the charming actor will be seen essaying a rustic character on-screen. ”Yes I am playing a very rustic, earthy gaavwaala,” says the actor.
Ayushmann will be seen playing a Bhojpuri in DUM LAGA KE HAISHA.

Ask him if it was easy to get into the skin of character and Ayushmann says, ”It was not easy. Even the actors, who are playing my family in the film, are from UP. There’s lot of Bhojpuri involved in the film. It’s complete Western UP. The language is so different. I was completely awestruck.”
So, probe him about how he got the hang of the lingo and says, ”We went to Haridwar, spent a good four-five days there and observed people around. Moreover, I am good with Hindi and I am good with languages. It was easy to pick the accent. In fact, I am a kind of a person who easily grasps the language. If you leave me with those people I’ll start speaking exactly the same way and in same style.”

Not only for Ayushmann, even for the prestigious Yash Raj Banner,it is a completely new territory to deal with. ”DUM LAGA KE HAISHA is a very unusual YRF film. Yash Raj has never treaded into such territory,” says Ayushmann.
DUM LAGA KE HAISHA revolves around the life of a small-town couple – Prem and Sandhya.From overcoming his fear of the English language to dealing with an overbearing father, Prem(Ayushmann Khurrana) discovers that his oversized and mismatched wife, Sandhya (Bhumi Pednekar), whom he considered as a hindrance in his business and life, will actually lead him to…something quite cool!
DUM LAGA KE HAISHA is currently under production and is slated for a 2014 release.
