The two prominent releases of the week, Ram Gopal Varma’s Amitabh Bachchan starrer SARKAR 3 and YRF’s Parineeti-Ayushmaan’s MERI PYAARI BINDU, failed to stand up to the might of BAAHUBALI 2 :THE CONCLUSION (Hindi), as expected and predicted.
Coming to the number crunching the front runner turned out to be MERI PYAARI BINDU (released mostly at multiplexes) with a 20 percent start, while SARKAAR 3 lagged behind with a 15 percent start.
While the first day total is likely to be in favour of SARKAR 3 due to high number of prints, given a more in vogue subject, MERI PYAARI BINDU may edge out SRAKAR 3 by the end of the weekend.
Having said that, both the new releases are unlikely to make a mark in the end count as BAAHUBALI 2 remains the first choice of the audience, even during the third weekend.
Meanwhile, BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION (Hindi) managed the best second week ever with over 140 crore, thus netting above 387 crore (to be validated) in two weeks from India, and thus crosses Aamir’s DANGAL, to become the highest all time grosser, in two weeks flat, and still counting.
