Despite carrying a decent buzz Sunny Deol’s BHAIAJI SUPERHIT could not quite impress at the ticket window. Perhaps the dated look, despite top notch performances from Sunny, Preity and Arshad, resulted in the film embarking on a so-so start (decent in East Punjab and parts of hinterland & single screens). Still, all is not lost for BHAIAJI SUPERHIT and it can still hope for a reasonable weekend.
Meanwhile, the Diwali disappointment, Amitabh, Aamir, Katrina and Sana starrer, YRF’s THUGS OF HINDOSTAN, saw a huge crash in the second week and the film has barely netted 147-148 crore (all versions included) at the end of the second week. TOH will also be lucky to touch the $10m mark in the overseas. Having said that, the producers & world wide distributors YRF may just scrape through due to revenues from non-theatrical rights, though not the exhibitors!
Concluding with the film that made the most out of TOH debacle, the Dussehra release, Junglee Pictures’ Ayushmann, Sanya and Nina Gupta starrer, BADHAAI HO, the film added another 8 crore thus netting 126 crore in from India and will end up a s a blockbuster by finishing around the 130 crore mark.
