This Friday saw the release of Walt Disney Pictures and UTV Motion Pictures’ Remo Dsouza directed Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhu Dheva starrer, ABCD 2- ANYBODY CAN DANCE 2.
As was obvious and stated in our box-office report, ABCD 2 embarked on a good to great start. The first day saw the biggest opening day of 2015 (14-15 crore) beating the record of GABBAR IS BACK (13 crore), despite much lesser number of prints. And that due to much better occupancies.
All said and done, ABCD 2 is all set for the best opening weekend of 2015, but will have to sustain for a couple of weeks to be declared a clean hit. Bright chances that it will!
Meanwhile last week’s Mohit Suri directed Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan and Rajkummar Rao starrer, HAMARI ADHURI KAHANI, could not make an impact at the box-office, despite doing decently at some massy centres. The film netted around 27 crore during the opening week from India will struggle for survival.
